Malayer Grand Bazaar

A Bazaar with Huge Dome

One of the Malayer tourist attractions, the Malayer Grand Bazaar is related to Sheikh-ol-Moluk era (the offspring of Fathali Shah, founder of Malayer city). This bazaar comprises of a main bazaar along with two branching bazaars. There are a few arcades and residential houses surrounding it. The main bazaar runs in a north-south direction and from east to west.

Malayer Museum

Lotfalian House and Museum

The city of Malayer contains about 120 historical houses from the Qajar period, each of which is wonderful and can be considered as a tourist attraction of Malayer. Lotfalian House and Museum is a two-story brick building with an infrastructure of about 1200 meters built during the time of Fath-Ali-Shah Qajar. This complex has two inner and outer courtyards and a beautiful palace with sash doors and windows and colored glass. The most beautiful part of the house of Lotfalian is the underground, which is called the house pool, and has a stone pool with the water flow of the aqueduct. This pool house will be a good place to spend the hot days of the year in the summer. Currently, this house has been changed to the Museum of Culture and History of Malayer and is considered as one of the must-see places in Malayer. Bronze historical objects, clay dishes and figures, and agricultural tools from different historical periods are exhibited in the Malayer Museum. The only museum in Malayer city is this museum, in another part of which, anthropological objects and accessories are exposed to the eyes of researchers and enthusiasts. Due to the cool weather of Malayer, it is recommended to visit this museum in spring and summer.

Malayer Nushijan Citadel

An Adobe Building of Iron Age

Nushijan Citadel which is one of the Malayer tourist attractions; is situated in Shusab village of Malayer on a mound 37 meters high. It dates back to the Iron Age and early Mede settlements in Iran. Nushijan is one of the world’s oldest adobe architectures, and yet one of Iran’s least known. Nushijan probably means the seat of Nush, or Anoush, which are both girls’ names in Persian, and the name of the woman who ruled over this area.

The achievements of an archaeological excavations (1964-1977) discovered three ancient architectural periods in this region: the Mede, Achaemenid, and Parthian eras. Median artefacts discovered at Nushijan mound include: The ancient fire temple, The colonnade known as Apadana, The tunnel, fort, and rampart. Malayer Mini World

From Hafiziyah to the Tower of Pisa

Mini World (small world) is a wonderful park in Malayer, where there are various elements of Iranian and world symbols such as the Leaning Tower of Pisa, Hafeziyah and Persepolis. In general, mini worlds (miniature parks) offer examples of the world's famous buildings and structures in small dimensions and take you on a trip around the world in a short period of time. Mini World Park, which is considered one of the tourist attractions of Malayer, is supposed to house 138 historical, national and world works on a scale of one tenth. Among the structures that are currently built in it, you can mention Persepolis, Achaemenid Soldiers (Eternal Army), Shiraz Hafiziya, Khayyam's Mausoleum, Thirty-Three Bridges of Isfahan, Eiffel Tower in Paris, and Leaning Tower of Pisa. Svadekoh Versak Bridge, which is one of the most magnificent inter-road bridges in Iran, and the Greek Parthenon Temple, which is the shrine of Athena, the goddess of wisdom and art, are other attractive miniature structures in this park.

Malayer Seif-ol-Dowleh Mausoleum

Muhammad Mirza nicknamed Seif-ol-Dowleh was one of the Qajar princes. During his trip to Malayer, he decided to develop the city and bought the city from the government in order to devote the income from it to building a hospital, school and helping the poor. This garden was built in imitation of the Safavid period garden in Isfahan (Chaharbagh, Isfahan). After the death of Seif-ol-Dowleh, according to his will, he was buried on top of the prayer hill in this garden. On his tomb, they built brick tombs with a quadrangular plan and a dome-shaped roof and decorated it with turquoise tiles. Inside the mausoleum, there is a large panel with verses from the Quran written on it, as well as some photos of Seif-ol-Dowleh and his family members.

Malayer Agh Gol Lagoon

A 40,000-years old Lagoon

One of the Malayer tourist attractions, Malayer Agh-Gol lagoon is located south of Nahavand plain nearby Kord Khurd village. This lagoon is 5 kilometers long, 3.5 km wide, and 50 centimeters deep. The wonderful vegetation and its closeness to Kot Mountain have made it a perfect habitat for migrating birds from Russia, Caucasia, and Scandinavian countries. Geological studies show that this lagoon is more than 40 thousand years old. Agh-Gol Wetland has been inscribed in the National Heritage List.

Malayer Anuj Ancient Castle

A 8000-years old castle

Anuj ancient castle is located in Anuj village, 35 km southwest of Malayer. This eight-thousand-year-old castle is made of clay and mud, surrounded by long tunnels and caves, which are said to have been dug as a secret way for times of emergency. Anuj village, in addition to Anuj castle, has other ancient monuments that are worth visiting. The cemetery of Qala-Baqer neighborhood, whose stones are decorated with cuneiform lines, and historical watchtowers in different parts of the village, which are several hundred years old, are among these. Anuj Castle, which is one of the tourist attractions of Malayer, belongs to the Sasanian period and is also called Yazdgerd Castle. It is possible that Anuj Castle was a shelter of Yazgerd-III for some time.

Malayer Baam

The entertainment and tourism complex of Baam Malayer has been built in the northernmost point of Malayer as a green belt and tourist village. In this complex, you will see an indoor amusement park, cable car and monorail, rock climbing wall, skating and cycling rink, a restaurant and a coffee shop.

Malayer Darreh Farakh Cave

Darreh Farakh Cave, which is one of the natural attractions of Malayer, is located around Malayer and near the village called "Jozan". Water drips from the roof of the cave and its floor is full of mud and slippery.

Malayer Pari Castle

150 Ancient Graves of the First millennium BC

In Pari Castle (Pari hill) which is one of the Malayer tourist attractions; 150 ancient graves related to the first millennium BC. have been found. In these graves, the dead bodies have been laid on their left or right arm, depending on the position at the time of death, with bent knees and hands crossed on their chest. The corpses are faced the sun. Along with the corpse, the rings, bracelets and necklaces have also been discovered.
